Does your business have a MySQL Relational Database to store customer data? You can connect this with Traitly - this will allow Traitly’s powerful prediction engine to analyse the data and provide insights into which user actions and events are the most important at any given time.
If you are logged into your Traitly account, click here to go directly to the MySQL Database installation page - otherwise, follow the easy steps below:
On your Traitly dashboard, click on the apps link on the top of the screen, shown below.
On the Traitly Apps page, click on the Data Sources option. Locate the MySQL App and click Install.
After clicking ‘Install’, you will be brought to the MySQL configuration page in Traitly, as seen below.
If you use phpMyAdmin for the administration of your MySQL database, proceed to the login page of your account, as shown below.
The host name will be visible in the URL of the login page - this URL is generally in the form of https://<mysql.yourcompany.com>/index.php - all you have to do is copy and paste the “<mysql.yourcompany.com>” portion from your own URL and paste this in the Host field in Traitly. The Database user and Database password are the username and password that you use to log into phpMyAdmin above.
The location of the Database name can be in the red rectable in the screenshot below - copy in paste this into Traitly.
The default port for MySQL is “3306”, however this isn’t always the port in use for a MySQL database. To determine the correct port, click on the ‘SQL’ option in the screenshot below.
Next, type in the command "show variables;" and press Go as shown below. A number of parameters are returned when you press Go - scroll down until you see Port.
This should return the correct port, if the Default Port is not being used for your database. Paste this value into the Port field in Traitly. You can then click Save. You can also click the Test Connection button if you are unsure.
Your MySQL Data will now be safely and securely synchronized with your Traitly account to be analysed by our algorithms for actionable customer insights.
